Mitutoyo 7010S-10 Magnetic Stand 6" Rod & Universal Clamp
The Mitutoyo 7010S-10 is a compact magnetic stand with a 6-inch rod and universal clamp, designed for securely mounting dial indicators, dial test indicators, and other small measuring instruments on ferrous metal surfaces. With a 600 N (60 kgf) magnetic holding force and a V-block base, it grips flat surfaces, round bars, and machine columns with equal confidence — making it an essential fixture in any machine shop, quality lab, or inspection station across the UAE.
Manufactured by Mitutoyo to the same precision standards as their measuring instruments, the 7010S-10 features a simple on/off magnetic switch, a fully articulating universal clamp arm, and a stem hole that accepts standard 3/8" and 4 mm indicator stems (with an 8 mm bush adapter). It's the reliable, everyday stand that keeps your indicator exactly where you need it.
✦ Key Features
600 N Magnetic Holding Force — Powerful vertical retractile magnet locks firmly to machine tables, surface plates, and steel fixtures. One-switch on/off operation.
V-Block Base — Precision-ground V-groove on the base lets you mount the stand on round bars, cylindrical columns, and curved surfaces — not just flat tables.
Universal Clamp Arm — Fully articulating joint with 6-inch (152 mm) rod gives flexible positioning of your indicator at any angle and height up to 232 mm.
Standard Stem Compatibility — 3/8" stem hole (9.53 mm) accepts most dial indicators directly. Includes 4 mm and 8 mm bush adapters for Mitutoyo dial test indicators and smaller instruments.
Compact Footprint — Base measures just 59 × 50 × 55 mm, small enough to work in tight setups on lathes, milling machines, and grinders without interfering with the workpiece.

🏭 Applications
Lathe Setup & Runout Checking — Mount a dial indicator on the lathe bed or chuck to check spindle runout, workpiece concentricity, and tailstock alignment.
Milling Machine Alignment — Position an indicator on the milling table or column to tram the head, check vise alignment, or verify fixture parallelism.
Surface Grinder Setup — Hold a dial test indicator to check wheel dress, table flatness, and workpiece height before grinding.
Quality Inspection — Mount on a surface plate for height comparison, flatness checks, and incoming inspection of machined components.
Maintenance & MRO — Quick-mount on any ferrous surface to check shaft runout, bearing play, and machine alignment during preventive maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this stand hold my dial indicator securely on a vertical surface?
Yes. The 600 N magnetic force is rated for vertical retractile use — it holds firmly on vertical surfaces, machine columns, and overhead setups.
What indicator stems fit the 7010S-10?
The clamp accepts 3/8" (9.53 mm) stems directly. It also accepts 4 mm and 8 mm stems using the included bush adapters, covering virtually all Mitutoyo dial indicators and dial test indicators.
Does this stand work on aluminium or stainless steel surfaces?
The magnet requires a ferrous (magnetic) surface. It works on carbon steel, cast iron, and most tool steel. It will not hold on aluminium, brass, or austenitic stainless steel (304/316). For non-magnetic surfaces, use a clamp-type stand instead.
Is this the same as the 7010SN?
The 7010S-10 is the current production model replacing the older 7010S and 7010SN. Dimensions and magnetic force are the same.
