Imported Helicoil Thread Inserts and matching Installation (Bottom) Taps repair and reinforce worn, stripped or damaged internal threads. The wire thread inserts restore a hole to its original thread size and strength, while the bottom taps cut and finish the tapped hole so it is correctly sized to receive the insert. Insert sizes are available in 18x2.5x3D, 14x1.5x2D and 9x1.25x3D, with matching bottom taps in 11x1.25 and 8x1.25.
How to Use
Drill and, where required, cut the hole using the matching bottom tap to prepare correctly sized threads for the insert. Wind the helicoil insert into the tapped hole using a standard insertion tool until it sits at the correct depth, then snap off or remove the installation tang per the insert type. Always match insert diameter, pitch and length (xD) to the tap and to the original thread being repaired.
