How to Use
Fit the drill into a drill, drill press or machine tool that can run in reverse (counter-clockwise) rotation, and set the machine to that reverse setting before starting — running a left-hand drill in the normal clockwise direction will not cut. For fastener extraction work, centre the drill on the damaged bolt, screw or stud, apply firm steady pressure at a moderate speed, and use cutting fluid to control heat; as the drill bites into the fastener, the counter-rotation often grips and unscrews it before the hole is fully drilled through. If the fastener does not back out on its own, continue drilling to remove the remaining material or to prepare the hole for a separate screw extractor. For general machining applications where the spindle itself runs in reverse, use the drill exactly as a standard HSS twist drill, keeping speeds, feeds and coolant appropriate to the workpiece material and the 8.00mm diameter.
