Manufactured from fully ground High Speed Steel (HSS), these twist drills feature a precision 118° conventional point angle for dependable self-centering and clean hole starts in steel, cast iron, and general engineering materials. The 11.50mm jobber-length drill suits standard-depth holes where rigidity and fast material removal are the priority, while the 14.50mm long-series drill offers extra flute and shank length for reaching deeper into a workpiece or drilling through thicker sections where a standard jobber drill cannot reach. Both are ground to DIN tolerances for consistent, repeatable hole sizing.
How to Use
Fit the drill securely in a chuck or collet rated for the shank diameter, and centre-punch the workpiece to guide the point on start-up. Use lower spindle speeds and steady feed pressure for the long-series 14.50mm drill to reduce deflection and chatter over its extended length, and apply cutting fluid throughout the operation on steel to protect the cutting edge and improve surface finish. For the 11.50mm jobber drill, standard HSS drilling speeds and feeds apply. Retract periodically on deep holes to clear swarf and prevent binding.
