VH Hydraulic Machine Vise
VH-4, VH-5, VH-6, VH-8, VH-8L, VH-12
Hydraulic clamping vise for milling and CNC. Higher and more repeatable clamping force than a manual screw vise — less jaw lift, less tool wear.
VHT Tilting Hydraulic Vise
VHT-4U, VHT-6U
Tilts and swivels for compound-angle milling, plus the clamping force of a hydraulic vise. Setups that used to need a sine plate done in one fixture.
VK K-Type Knuckle Vise
VK-4, VK-5, VK-6, VK-8
Knuckle joint amplifies operator force into very high jaw pressure — chosen for tough cuts where a standard screw vise lifts the workpiece.
VW 3-Way Angle Milling Vise
VW-3, VW-4, VW-5
Adjustable on three axes — tilt, swivel and rotate. Lets a manual mill cut compound angles without buying a tilting table.
VCV Self-Centering Vise
VCV-0611 / VCV-10130
Both jaws move together — workpiece is automatically centred over the spindle, perfect for 5-axis pallet work and repeat fixturing.
BS-2 Universal Dividing Head
BS-2 · 1001-052 / 1001-057
For gear cutting, splines, hex flats and indexed milling. Includes index plates and dividing pin — the standard toolroom dividing head.
VUT Tilting Rotary Table
VUT-6 / VUT-10 / VUT-12
Adds two extra axes to a 3-axis mill — rotation around the table centre and tilt up to 90°. Cam profiles, bevel gears, helical work.
58-Pc Steel Clamping Kit
CK-08 / CK-10 / CK-12A / CK-14 / CK-16 / CK-18 / CK-20
Step blocks, T-bolts, T-nuts, strap clamps and stud rods. The kit every milling machine, jig borer and CNC bed needs on day one.
Cracking the SANOU Code
Every SANOU lathe chuck has a code like K11-200 or K72-630. Each character tells you the chuck's type, jaw count, motion mode and diameter.
K72−630 Manual Chuck Family
Standard SANOU/Chinese-spec manual scroll chuck. Distinct from hydraulic JF, pneumatic K22, or CNC power-chuck families.
Type Code
11 = 3-jaw self-centering scroll. 12 = 4-jaw self-centering scroll. 72 = 4-jaw independent.
Separator
Just a delimiter between type and size. Some catalogues print K11/200 or K11 200; same chuck.
Outside Diameter
Chuck OD in millimetres. Common sizes: 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 300, 315, 400, 500, 630. Match to your lathe's spindle nose and bed swing.
3-Jaw Self-Centering
Round and hexagonal stock. All three jaws move together via a scroll plate. The default workshop chuck.
4-Jaw Self-Centering
Square stock and woodturning. Jaws move together. Reversible top jaws on most sizes.
4-Jaw Independent
Each jaw adjusts on its own screw — clamps eccentric, square, rectangular, or odd-shape work.
Power / Hydraulic
Production CNC chucks. Through-hole, draw-bar actuated, hydraulic clamping. Ask if you need one quoted.

↓Workholding FAQ
The 12 questions our team answers most often before quoting a chuck or vise.
What's the difference between K11, K12 and K72?
K11 is a 3-jaw self-centering scroll chuck — all three jaws move together when you turn the key, ideal for round and hex stock. K12 is a 4-jaw self-centering version, used for square stock and woodturning. K72 is a 4-jaw independent — each jaw is on its own screw, so you can clamp odd shapes, eccentric work, or set up off-centre on purpose.
How do I pick the chuck size for my lathe?
Two limits: the spindle nose rating and the bed swing. The chuck OD must clear the bed swing with room for the workpiece overhang. As a rough rule, chuck OD = 0.6–0.8 of the lathe's swing-over-bed. A 350 mm-swing lathe typically takes a 200–250 mm chuck. Send us your lathe model and we'll confirm.
Do SANOU chucks come with a backplate?
No. SANOU ships chucks with the body, jaws, key and mounting bolts only. The backplate must match your spindle nose — D1-3, D1-4, D1-5, A2-5, A2-6, threaded 1-1/2″ x 8 TPI, etc. Tell us your spindle nose and we quote chuck + matched backplate as one line.
Hydraulic vise vs manual screw vise — when does it matter?
For one-off and toolroom work, a quality manual screw vise (with parallels and an indicator-true jaw) is fine. For repeat CNC production where the operator runs many fixtures per shift, a hydraulic vise (Vertex VH) is worth it — consistent clamping force, less jaw lift, less operator fatigue, and the workpiece doesn't walk under heavy cuts.
What is a knuckle vise (VK) actually for?
Knuckle vises use a toggle / knuckle linkage to amplify the operator's force into very high jaw pressure once the jaws are nearly closed. They're chosen for heavy manual mill work where a regular screw vise would let the workpiece lift or shift. Slower to open and close than a screw vise, but much higher final clamp force.
When do I actually need a 4-jaw independent chuck?
Three cases: (1) the workpiece is square, rectangular or otherwise non-round; (2) you need to turn an off-centre feature deliberately (a counterweight, an eccentric); (3) the part is a rough casting and you want to indicate it true to a specific datum, not just to the chuck axis.
Can a Vertex dividing head be used for gear cutting?
Yes. The BS-2 universal dividing head ships with a set of index plates that let you divide a workpiece into the most common tooth counts. Used with a horizontal mill and an involute gear cutter, it's the classic way to cut spur gears, splines and hex flats.
What's the difference between a rotary table and a tilting rotary table?
A standard rotary table rotates around a vertical axis, giving you continuous angular control for cams and arcs. A tilting rotary table (Vertex VUT) adds a tilt axis up to 90° — effectively turning a 3-axis manual mill into a 4- or 5-axis machine for bevel gears, helical features, and complex contours.
What does a 58-piece clamping kit actually contain?
The Vertex CK kits include: stepped clamping blocks (multiple heights), strap clamps in several lengths, T-bolts in matched lengths, T-nuts, hex stud rods, flange nuts, and a steel storage box. Available in metric (M8/M10/M12/M14/M16/M18/M20) for matching your machine's T-slot.
Do you stock magnetic chucks or sine plates?
Magnetic chucks for grinders are stocked on indent — we can usually deliver within 1–2 weeks. Sine plates and sine vises are also available. Send the surface size and your grinder/mill model and we'll quote.
Are all your prices visible on the site?
